I freaking love everything about Kylie Scott's books. I have to admit that I was nervous about a new series. I always am when one of my favorite authors embarks on a new journey with new characters, after I have loved their previous ones so much (I've been proven wrong by Jay Crownover and Jodi Ellen Malpas, to name a few). Kylie's Stage Dive Series is one of my favorites! She just wrote those rockstars (& their leading ladies!!) so damn well. I alternated between reading the ebook and listening to the audiobook of Dirty, and I loved them equally. I fell in love with Lydia instantly. She is my kind of girl. She may *be* me, actually. And Vaughan? OMG. Aside from needing to figure his sh*t out a little faster, like any typical male, he is absolute perfection. Dirty is the perfect combination of lovable characters, humor, super hot sex, a supporting cast that's equally lovable and interesting, fantastic writing, foul language, and a perfect HEA. My one & only complaint is that the last chapter felt a bit rushed. I would have been completely okay with it, if there'd have been an epilogue. I love epilogues, and I really would have liked to have one for Vaughan & Lydia. However, I can live without it knowing that we'll get glimpses of them in the upcoming books in the series. Kylie Scott writes everything I love about contemporary romances! *P.S. STAGE DIVE LOVERS: You get a little Mal in this book! 😉
Here's the blurb:
The last thing Vaughan Hewson expects to find when he returns to his childhood home is a broken hearted bride in his shower, let alone the drama and chaos that comes with her.
Lydia Green doesn't know whether to burn down the church or sit and cry in a corner. Discovering the love of your life is having an affair on your wedding day is bad enough. Finding out it's with his best man is another thing all together. She narrowly escapes tying the knot and meets Vaughan only hours later.
Vaughan is the exact opposite of the picture perfect, respected businessman she thought she'd marry. This former musician-turned-bartender is rough around the edges and unsettled. But she already tried Mr. Right and discovered he's all wrong-maybe it's time to give Mr. Right Now a chance.
After all, what's wrong with getting dirty?
